The blahs
Quarantine has been forever. People are stupid and won't wear masks for freedom (meaning fear). It seems illogical to fear a strip of cloth and invite a deadly disease. But no one seems to be able to separate opinion and desire from Fact anymore. I can see how we got here but not how to fix it. A terrible constantly defunded educational system, 24 propaganda opinion couched as news. Bad behavior rewarded while good behavior is punished. And no one seems to believe in science, probably because they don't understand it. It is so heartening to occasionally see the moments of good. Where people help and save each other and do something truly generous. It seems to be definitely a rarity instead of the norm now. Texas just had a massive disaster with snow, freezing temperatures and a complete shutdown of power and water. Now it's all melting and having (mostly) survived the cold their houses and everything in them are destroyed. What do they do now? The hotels had the same problem so where do they go? Meanwhile the energy companies say they are going to make bank on this. And they are. Deregulation isn't all fun and games for the people affected. There were some super sad stories from Texas during this cold. An old veteran who went out to get oxygen from his truck and fell. Freezing to death before he could get back up. A husband and wife froze to death in their living room. An 11 year old boy who in an earlier video was so excited to see snow for the first time froze to death in his bed in his families trailer. But the world moves on and they will be forgotten in a day just like the 500,000 people who have died from Covid in the US in less than a year of this fucking virus.
